Sunway University is a university with a 9 hectare (22 acre) campus in Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia. It was opened in 1987, as Sunway College; in 2004, the College was upgraded by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education to a University College and in January 2011, it was upgraded again to Sunway University.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Our Story )〕 It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes taught in English. Sunway University is part of the Sunway Education Group. In 2012, the university celebrated its silver jubilee.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=A glorious 25 years )〕 == Structure == Schools and Faculties Sunway University campus offers programmes from undergraduate through to PhD through the following faculties: * Sunway University Business School (SUBS) * Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) * Faculty of Arts (FOA) * Centre for Tourism, Hospitality and Culinary Management (CTHCM) * Centre for American Education (CAE) * Centre for English Language Studies (CELS) * Sunway Institute for Social Entrepreneurship (SISE) * Centre for Innovation and Industry Linkages (CIIL) All faculties (except the ADTP) offer diploma and degree programmes. SUBS and FST offers diploma, honours programmes, Master's, and PhD programmes. The ADTP programme, offered since 1987, has transferred students to universities in the United States and Canada. The Hospitality, Tourism and Events Management programmes are offered at the Centre of Tourism, Hospitality and Culinary Management, under SUBS. Sunway University operates in collaboration with its sister institution, Sunway College which offers pre-university programmes, as well as twinning degrees at the undergraduate and MBA level with Victoria University in Australia. Sunway College also offers an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants certification programme in accounting. Sunway University, Sunway College and Monash University Sunway campus are members of the Sunway Education Group, which are owned and governed by the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation. The Foundation was officially established as a registered charity in March 2010 from the predecessor Sunway Education Trust, set up in 1997. It is founded by Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah, AO, Founder and Chairman of the Sunway Group. At such, the Sunway Group is the parent company of Sunway Education Group.
